An “agentic commerce score” is a number from a scanner that estimates how well AI agents can work with a site. There is no single standard behind it: each vendor chooses its own layers and weights, so the same store can score high on one and low on another. This is what five of them say they measure, from their own published pages.

What each score says it measures

Cloudflare Agent Readiness. Cloudflare’s launch post says the score rests on four dimensions: Discoverability (robots.txt, sitemap.xml, Link headers), Content (Markdown for Agents), Bot Access Control (Content Signals, AI bot rules, Web Bot Auth) and Capabilities (Agent Skills, API Catalog, OAuth discovery, MCP Server Card, WebMCP). It also checks for x402, the Universal Commerce Protocol and the Agentic Commerce Protocol, but states that these “do not currently count towards the score”. We cover the detail in our Cloudflare breakdown.

Ora. Ora’s methodology scores four layers out of 100: Discovery (20 points), Access (30), Usability (40) and Payments (10). Payments is described as the step where an agent “pays for the thing it just did”, with six checks. Ora publishes grade bands from F (0-27) to A+ (95-100).

Is Agentic (Vercel, powered by Ora). Its methodology page says essential checks share an 80-point pool and recommended checks a 20-point pool, with up to five bonus points for emerging signals. Checks that do not apply to a site are excluded, and a separate commerce view changes which checks are required. The page also warns that a high score is not a quality or compatibility certification.

Lighthouse agentic browsing. Chrome’s documentation says this category has no weighted 0-100 score. It shows a pass ratio instead, built from WebMCP, accessibility-tree, layout-stability and llms.txt audits. Chrome labels the category experimental.

Visa Agent Score. Visa’s June 10, 2026 announcement describes Agent Score, created with New Generation, as letting merchants evaluate whether AI agents can “navigate, understand and complete tasks” on their site. The release gives no scoring breakdown.

Shopify’s product page audit. Shopify’s page says it checks a product page “for the structured data that AI agents read”. Its footnote calls the output informational signals that do not guarantee products will be surfaced.

Why the numbers disagree

The five differ on three points that decide the number:

  • What is read. Some read site-wide files, some a single product page, one the accessibility tree.
  • What counts. Cloudflare leaves commerce protocols out of the score. Ora gives payments 10 of 100. Lighthouse gives no total at all.
  • What the job is. Most are built for any website. Is Agentic offers a commerce view, and the Shopify page and Visa’s description target stores, though the Visa release says nothing about method.

Our own worked example of a 96 against a 41 shows the same effect on one store.

What a store should read from them

Treat each score as a checklist of one layer, not a verdict on whether an agent can buy. In the sources above, the transaction is the thinnest part: it is excluded from Cloudflare’s total, worth 10 points at Ora, and absent from Lighthouse’s audits.

A practical order:

  1. Fix access first: nothing else matters if agents are blocked at the door.
  2. Make product price, currency, availability and variants machine-readable (see what to publish).
  3. Then test the step the scores barely cover: can an agent reach cart and checkout on your store.

AgentReady’s own matrix is stated in the open: access 34, structured data 30, catalog 20, transaction rails 16. That weighting is our choice for the commerce job, not a standard.

FAQ

What is an agentic commerce score?

It is a 0-100 number, or a pass ratio, from a scanner that estimates how readily AI agents can find, read and use a site. Each vendor defines its own checks and weights, so scores from different tools are not comparable.

Why does my store score differently on each tool?

The tools read different pages, weigh different layers and serve different site types. Cloudflare excludes commerce protocols from its total, while Ora scores payments at 10 points, so a store can rank very differently on each.

Does a high score mean an AI agent can buy from my store?

No. Is Agentic’s methodology states that a high score is not a quality or compatibility certification. None of the pages above describes completing a purchase as part of the score.

A score is an answer to one layer of the question; the layer that earns revenue is whether the agent can finish the purchase.
